Decisive matchday for several teams in the Spanish league. It’s the final round, and whatever happens will stay that way, there is no room for maneuver. One of the matches that could attract the most attention is Valencia vs. FC Barcelona, where the champion has nothing at stake, but the Valencians do, having gone from fearing relegation to aiming for a European spot. If they beat Barça, they could have a chance of being in the Conference League next season. But it isn’t the only interesting game you can watch on DAZN this Saturday… and at half price.

Valencia – FC Barcelona: the locals aspire to Europe

As I hinted earlier, the final jornada of LaLiga EA Sports is heating up. Valencia has been close to relegation and now, having been saved, aspires to the seventh position in the table. What has to happen to achieve it? First and most importantly: win their match against the champions of the competition. A feat that, if achieved, would give them options, but would depend on the results of Rayo Vallecano and Getafe, the two teams that could spoil the celebration.

One of the twists that could work is if Rayo lose and Getafe draw. By the particular head-to-head, the Che would take the prize. Only the victory of one of them would make this possibility disappear. But, the first thing that has to happen is that Valencia wins.

FC Barcelona does not have anything to play for, because they can no longer reach 100 points and the record for home wins is already achieved, and with their victory over Betis they became the first club to win all their home games with the 20-team format. So the match at Mestalla is a mere formality for the Blaugranas, who will already be thinking about the World Cup.

Other matches you can watch on DAZN this matchday:

Girona – Elche: it’s the great relegation battle of the round. Both teams have numbers that could see them in the Segunda next season, and their situation is tight. For Girona, only a win will save them from relegation. The Elche have it slightly better, because a draw would keep them in the top division. In case of a defeat, Elche would have to wait for what happens to…

Mallorca – Real Oviedo: with the Asturians already in the second division, Mallorca must win to have any chance of staying in the Primera División. What needs to happen? Girona must win, Osasuna must lose, and Levante must pick up points. Only then would they succeed.

Deportivo Alavés – Rayo Vallecano: with Alavés already safe, the ones with something at stake are the Vallecano team who, depending on what happens on May 27 in the Conference League final (if they win they will have a place in the Europa League next season), could secure Europe if they reach seventh place and play in the Conference even if they don’t beat Crystal Palace in a few days. If they win this European competition and have finished seventh, Spain would be left without a representative in the Conference next year.

Espanyol – Real Sociedad: after a disastrous second half, the Pericos were saved last jornada. Real Sociedad has secured their European place after winning the Copa del Rey, so they aren’t interested in achieving that coveted seventh place that would take the team in it to the Conference. If that happens, Spain would be left without a team in this competition next year.
