Powerade FIFA Trio: An Honest Review

FIFA collaborations are everywhere this season, and POWERADE is keeping pace. This medal-winning sports drink has just unveiled three fresh flavors on shelves. It’s been a while since I last ranked every POWERADE flavor; let’s determine whether these new additions are worth a place in the lineup.

POWERADE Blood Orange Kick Review

New POWERADE!

Pros: I’ve argued that blood orange deserves more love as a beverage flavor, and this variant continues to back that claim. The sodium content in sports drinks tends to recede when paired with a bright, slightly tart fruit note. If any of these flavors endure beyond this summer’s soccer buzz, this would be my pick.

Cons: The term “Kick” suggests a heat or bite that isn’t actually present here; this drink is many things, but fiery isn’t one of them. Blood Orange Breakaway feels a better fit for the soccer vibe and for how it differentiates itself from POWERADE’s current lineup.

POWERADE White Grape Wave Review
POWERADE White Grape Wave

New POWERADE!

Pros: In a market crowded with artificial grape flavors, this new POWERADE feels figuratively and literally refreshing. In terms of flavor strength, it’s noticeably smoother than the tart Blood Orange Kick. Depending on what you’re using a hydration drink for, that easy-drinking quality may make White Grape Wave far more appealing.

Cons: Some people might find this underwhelming. If that’s you, please rethink how often you push your palate with enough flavor to overwhelm a Revolutionary War soldier.

POWERADE Cold Berry Burst Review
POWERADE Cold Berry Burst

New POWERADE!

Pros: This one, like Sprite Chill, genuinely tastes cold even when it’s not chilled. Given POWERADE’s connection to Sprite Chill within the Coca-Cola family, it’s not surprising to sense some shared DNA. Honestly, it’s a stronger realization of a “Cool Blue” idea than the original.

Cons: I enjoyed this flavor, but there isn’t a lot to critique. After two standout offerings, simply “good” doesn’t feel particularly distinctive.
