Where to Watch Valencia vs Barça: Xavi Pascual’s Team Eyes Another Epic Win in Game 2 of the Liga Endesa Final

More than one let out a shout, rose from the couch and brought their hands to their heads. The ending of the first game of the Endesa League final between Valencia Basket and FC Barcelona did not disappoint anyone, that’s for sure. Even less so the Barça fans, who tied almost at the buzzer with a long three by Clyburn and, in overtime, managed to maintain the positive momentum to silence the Roig Arena. They aspire, this Saturday, to repeat it and push a 0-2 that would be almost decisive.

They won’t have it easy against one of the best teams in Europe this season, a Euroleague semifinalist and hungry for revenge (and titles). Valencia has rarely lost two games in a row this season, and they do not want it to happen now that they are so close to claiming a historic league title. In Barça’s locker room, for their part, winning the title would be the best way to end a wildly eventful campaign in every sense.

This Saturday, the Roig Arena will once again gear up for one of those nights that fans live for: the second game of the grand Endesa League final, with the series already heated after Thursday’s thriller. Xavi Pascual’s side escaped from the first clash alive, but far from giving the impression of having the series under control: Valencia competed head-to-head, clung to the game when it looked lost, and made clear that they are not in the final to be a mere background player.

In front, once again, a tired Barça, but motivated for these encounters, carrying a backpack full of important matches and the self-imposed duty to fight until the end. Beyond the players’ names, Barça’s main challenge in this second game will be to survive Valencia’s fast start, control the tempo of the game, and prevent the Roig Arena’s atmosphere from turning every stretch into a mountain.

Barça could almost seal the series

The script of the first duel left several clues for this second clash. Barça leaned on its hierarchy in the clutch moments, found points at key moments and knew how to punish Valencia’s defensive lapses when the ball burned. Parra and Brizuela contributed off the bench, as did Vesely. Laprovittola and Clyburn, for their part, were the great beacons that lit Barça’s victory. The overtime was trench basketball: exchanges of baskets, tiny details and a couple of decisions that tilted the balance to the visitors’ side.

With that precedent in mind, the second game looks like a Valencia reaction and adjustments from both benches. Valencia needs to turn the almost into victory: take better care of the ball, select shots more wisely in crunch moments, and avoid those runs that force them to row upstream. Barça, for its part, arrives with the opportunity to put the series firmly in their favor, but knowing they cannot afford to relax.
