GHOST Energy Unveils 100% Liquid Bubblegum Flavor

Have you ever strained your jaw after chewing an excessive amount of bubblegum at once? If that scenario sounds familiar, GHOST Energy offers a remedy. One of the latest launches from this popular energy drink brand is a genuine collaboration with Bubblicious Bubblegum. GHOST kindly sent a case to your favorite food-flavored drink reviewer. Let’s examine how this beverage stacks up in a crowded market of candy-flavored caffeinated cans.

That seems familiar. Is it truly a fresh release?

Back in 2022, GHOST Energy teamed up with Bubblicious to launch their inaugural energy drink. The flavor? Strawberry Splash. That all-pink can was inspired specifically by Perfetti Van Melle‘s strawberry variant of Bubblicious bubblegum. The following year introduced Bubblicious Cotton Candy GHOST Energy, which remains my personal favorite GHOST flavor to date (even with my long-standing ambivalence toward cotton candy). Today’s feature focuses on the brand-new GHOST Energy drink built around the original Bubblicious bubblegum. This beverage isn’t rooted in strawberry bubblegum or cotton candy bubblegum like GHOST’s prior Bubblicious collaborations—this one sticks to the classic original bubblegum flavor.

Pros: The beverage delivers a pure nostalgic flavor with the impact of a siege engine. Even before the caffeine hits, the bold, artificially flavored bubblegum notes sharpen your senses right away. It’s a remarkable feat of flavor science that’s worth sampling for the experience alone.

Cons: Perfection isn’t everything. While this is unquestionably the most faithful bubblegum flavor ever produced, I’m not certain it needed to be an energy drink. It’s overwhelmingly potent, to the point that the aroma wafting from an open can can tire the nasal passage. As a fan of GHOST’s earlier Strawberry and Cotton Candy Bubblicious variants, I’m not convinced the concept needed to be extended this far.

(That said, I’d gladly part with a kidney to see GHOST tackle Bubblicious Watermelon. It might cut into WarHeads Sour Watermelon sales, but I’m surprised that product persists given the brand’s focus on the expanding Sour Strips line.)

What’s on the horizon for GHOST Energy?

Two GHOST Energy releases are drawing my attention: A&W Root Beer and Sour Strips AppleBerry. The former has been on the radar since late last year, while the latter appeared out of nowhere just a few weeks ago. Given how quickly the original Rainbow Sour Strips GHOST Energy captured the hearts of fans who adore sour candy flavors, I’m eager to sample this fruitier interpretation of the concept.
