Fanta Ghost Face Punch: Our Pick for the Best Scary Soda

I’ve got a mixed history with Fanta’s now-annual spooky flavor. While 2024’s Beetlejuice-inspired Fanta Haunted Apple tasted like an expired candle, I really enjoyed 2025’s sour-berry Fanta Chucky Punch. This year brings us our third entry in the series: Fanta Ghost Face Punch. The brand was nice enough to send over a few early cans of this slasher-fueled soda. Let’s find out whether this year’s soda leans more Michael Keaton or Charles Lee Ray… plus a brief legal disclaimer.

Hold on—is this a collaboration with Scream?

I wish I had a simple answer. Formally speaking, this is exclusively in collaboration with Fun World, the manufacturer of the Ghost Face mask seen in the SCREAM and Scary Movie franchises. Fanta is doing everything short of officially partnering with SCREAM on this release… including hiring Roger L. Jackson, the voice of Ghost Face across the whole SCREAM franchise, for voiceover work on select advertisements and crediting him specifically as such. The press release states this was done “in partnership with Paramount+”… so the ads are in collaboration with SCREAM? At minimum, Fanta got Paramount’s permission to confuse people into thinking this is an official SCREAM collaboration. (For comparison, the recent Angry Orchard/SCREAM Thriller Pack explicitly includes a ©2026 PARAMOUNT PICTURES on all materials.)

So, to be clear, this is not a soda explicitly based on any particular horror movie slasher, even if it really sounds like one. (This is actually pretty fitting for a character often portrayed with a voice-changer…) Enough talk, let’s find out whether this soda will have us yelling “wazzup!” or begging to be gut like a fish.

Fanta Ghost Face Punch Soda Review

New Halloween Fanta!

Pros: Per the bottom of the can, “Ghost Face Punch” is meant to be a berry-punch-flavored soda. A long-standing family recipe in my rolodex is a non-alcoholic punch made with lemon-lime soda and frozen berries in place of ice, so I’ll be the judge of whether this new Fanta will get the party screaming.

Flavor-wise, this definitely has that ambiguous purple “mixed berry” vibe going on, and I’m not mad. If you’re coming to Fanta for authentic fruit flavors, we live very different lives. I definitely prefer this to the previous two Halloween Fanta releases. While Haunted Apple was just plain bad and Chucky’s Punch was a little too tart to drink beyond a sip at a time, this is an easy-drinking, carbonated take on punch that truly befits a Halloween party. And that packaging, oh man–talk about a killer look.
