Liquid Death keeps pushing boundaries, as ever. We’ve previously covered their daring moves in candy-flavored sparkling water, and quietly the brand has introduced two fresh varieties in its laid-back, caffeinated iced tea lineup. Liquid Death kindly sent both new flavors for a taste test; the question is whether Raspberry Rage and Cinnamon Roll can live up to the brand’s reputation—or even surpass it.

Pros: Despite the edgy branding, most of Liquid Death’s beverages stay true to what the label promises… for better or worse. Raspberry Rage delivers a perfectly reasonable, low-sugar raspberry iced tea. There isn’t a trace of wild intensity to Raspberry Rage at all.
As usual, I roped in my girlfriend for a second opinion since she knows more about tea than I know about anything. While she tends to avoid canned tea due to the metallic taste left on the tongue, she did award Raspberry Rage her highest possible mark for a canned tea: “It’s good for a canned tea.”
Cons: I don’t see myself reaching for this middle-of-the-road option when stacked against their classic Sweet Reaper or whatever their latest bizarre offering might be. Liquid Death has painted itself into a corner by releasing so many wild drink concepts; once a Pop-Tarts–based tea appears, Raspberry Rage doesn’t spark any eyebrow-raising curiosity or interest.

Pros: On the topic of the absurd, here comes Liquid Death’s second pastry-flavored iced tea. Before getting into the clearly-obvious drawbacks, there are some intriguing elements at play. The spice-and-flavor blend used to imitate “Cinnamon Roll” aligns with a fairly popular style of tea. If you’re into chai, this is the closest you’ll get from Liquid Death’s iced tea lineup to a cinnamon pastry. The end result is sweet and oddly reminiscent of an iced cinnamon pastry… for some reason.
Cons: It tastes like Liquid Death’s iced tea blended with a Cinnabon Center Of The Roll. If that isn’t obvious praise, I’m not sure what is. My tea expert gave this partial credit for presenting a vaguely spiced vanilla note, then took back the compliment for not fully committing to the chai concept. As for me, I’m just annoyed they didn’t name it Sinnamon Roll.
