In the realm of gluten-free living, the ongoing cycle of testing and sometimes discarding products in the pursuit of a genuinely gluten-free option can feel draining. And, overall, adhering to a gluten-free diet tends to complicate enjoying everyday pleasures, including seasonal offerings. More often than not, the seasonal flavors that everyone is savoring won’t be as broadly available in your preferred gluten-free picks.

Our Official Thoughts

Pros — Cauliflower-based crusts for pizza are notoriously variable, not only in texture but also in flavor. For instance, the signature chewy bite we expect from a crust is often missing in gluten-free versions. Yet this particular pizza defies that expectation.

Not only did the crust arrive flavorful and well seasoned, but its preparation yields a texture that’s remarkably impressive. It tends toward a “thin and crispy” style, which happens to play to this pie’s strengths. It feels crunchy and light, yet is substantial enough to offer a satisfying chew. It’s crafted so well that a blind tasting by my partner couldn’t tell the crust apart from a conventional thin-and-crisp frozen option.

Beyond the crust itself, the toppings carried strong flavor as well. The white sauce base was creamy and luscious, avoiding the dryness that can plague cream-based pizzas. The squash paired with the chili crisp introduced a flavorful contrast that clearly set this seasonal pie apart from more generic autumn pizzas. It carried an unmistakable autumnal vibe, which we appreciated. Overall, the pizza was richly flavorful and highly aromatic, delivering a satisfying umami punch. As someone who isn’t gluten-free, I would happily buy this pizza again for another round of enjoyment.

Cons — Although the pie is well seasoned, it could benefit from a touch more salt. A light sprinkle across the top helps the flavors harmonize and brightens the overall taste, addressing the issue effectively.

Additionally, the chili crisp isn’t particularly spicy. The flavor profile is present, but if you’re seeking a noticeable heat kick, you may be left wanting more. If you do want it hotter, you can easily elevate the heat by adding crushed red pepper flakes or extra chili crunch, either mixed in beforehand or drizzled on after baking.
