With Crumbl gifting us with three fresh cookies this week, I’m here to cover the two less flashy options after Rachel’s take on the new Peanut Butter Cup Blondie Cookie. Let’s discover whether Crumbl’s Halloween Sprinkle Cake and Halloween Red Velvet Cookies are desserts worth showing up for or merely tricks that creep into our souls…

Crumbl’s Halloween Sprinkle Cake Cookie Review

New Crumbl Cookie!

Pros: Arriving at a Halloween bash this weekend with a handful of these will likely please everyone. Crumbl has delivered a well-executed elevated take on the classic “iced sugar cookie with sprinkles” idea… even if it isn’t exactly groundbreaking.

Cons: Yes, it turns out this week’s Halloween Sprinkle Cake Cookie is, wait for it, just a black, orange, and white variant of a dot cake-inspired cookie that first appeared back in June. (No spoilers, but the second cookie I’ll cover today is a minor variant of a recipe that debuted in late 2022—new is a big stretch for either option.)

Crumbl’s Halloween Red Velvet Cookie Review
Crumbl Halloween Red Velvet Cookie

New Crumbl Cookie!

Pros: Even though Rachel labeled the Peanut Butter Cup Blondie the “Spookiest” Crumbl Cookie in her headline, I’d argue the cookie with a mock blood-splatter drizzle is a touch spookier than the peanut butter cloud she reviewed this week. When it comes to Halloween theming, this cookie sits at the top of the lineup, without a doubt.

While this isn’t the finest red velvet cookie I’ve tasted, it checks all the boxes needed to be a solid option. Much like the Sprinkle Cake Cookie, no one will be disappointed to see this on the Halloween dessert spread. In isolation, these cookies are of similar quality; I simply prefer red velvet to a plain iced sugar cookie. If you’re deciding between these two, go with your heart.

Cons: I’d like the vanilla cream cheese frosting to lean more toward cream cheese; I’m not craving vanilla in a red velvet treat.

What else is on the Crumbl menu this week?

Beyond the obviously non-spooky Peanut Butter Cup Blondie and the two cookies reviewed above, Crumbl has four additional cookies to pick from–plus a cake! On the cookie lineup, you’ll find Rainbow Shake, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Dirt Cake, and the timeless Chocolate Chip (available in the standard size or the slimmer Value Menu version). In addition to the seven cookies on offer, there’s also a Cookies & Cream Tres Leches Cake; I’m planning to explore that to spark a bit of excitement after the routine of today’s review. See Rachel’s rundown below for the full details on every Crumbl treat available this week.
