Aldi’s gone and blown past Thanksgiving! Okay, more like they want to give us lots to choose from when we go for our Thanksgiving staples. What better to tempt us with than a smattering of wintery foods that will be nice to have on hand? Let me tell you, they did a good job. There are some solid new foods out this week that we cannot wait to get our hands on. Let’s get into the details.
Belmont Chocolate Creme Pie (11/4; $5.79)
Here it is—the one dessert you’ll want for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. I’ll come right out and say it: we don’t need pumpkin or apple pies. Chocolate cream pie covers all the bases. Aldi clearly understands that (even though they also stock pumpkin and apple varieties). With a month between family gatherings, you can absolutely bring a chocolate cream pie from Aldi to both occasions.
Benton’s Fudge Covered Peppermint Cremes (11/4; $3.99)
These fudge-dipped peppermint cremes feel like a blend of a York peppermint patty and an Oreo. Technically, there is a mint Oreo, but that doesn’t feature this bright, creamy center. Aldi’s peppermint sandwich cremes are enrobed in dark fudge and finished with peppermint sprinkles for a decadently rich bite that’s hard to resist.
Choceur Belgian Chocolate Waves (11/4; $3.47)
Aldi is bringing back Swoops, but in more traditional flavors than their original form. It’s a bit bittersweet for me as a fan of the Reese’s Swoops. This revival offers four familiar flavors: mint, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and caramel sea salt. Grab these for a convenient, bite-sized rush of chocolatey goodness this holiday season.
Appetitos Everything Franks in a Blanket (11/4; $4.29)
I appreciate that Aldi isn’t only rolling out holiday staples this week. They understand we still need real food to eat! This item serves a dual purpose: enjoy it on a regular Tuesday, tote them to a holiday gathering, or add them to the game-day snack spread. There’s really no wrong way to enjoy a box of these everything-seasoned pigs in a blanket.
Fremont Crab or Lobster Cakes (11/4; $4.99)
Yes, crab and lobster cakes are back in stock at Aldi. Surely this signals a nod to warm-weather fare, offering a tasty way to celebrate the feeling of summer even as the season changes. They invite you to heat them up and savor a beachy vibe. November or not, these are a comforting reminder that sunny days will return in about six months.
