The Aiper IrriSense 2 picks up the formula of the first model, already convincing, but it improves its mapping system. Easier to configure, more precise and more pleasant to use, this connected automatic sprinkler remains, however, imperfect on a few software points.

The Aiper IrriSense 2 does not upend the recipe for maintenance-free, fixed-installation irrigation. Like its predecessor, which we welcomed in 2025, it promises to water a lawn or garden without burying pipes or juggling solenoid valves. For the general principle and basic operation, our test of the Aiper IrriSense 1 remains largely valid.
This second generation keeps the same philosophy, but a few weeks of use are enough to reveal its real novelty. It doesn’t hide in the cylinder placed on the lawn, but in the way you teach it where to water.

Unboxing and Setup
The IrriSense 2 remains a bulky unit (22.3 x 26.8 x 58.2 cm, about 4.8 kg), designed to live outdoors during sunny days, connected to a garden hose and an electrical outlet. This is still one of the points to anticipate before buying: the unit does not run on batteries. You’ll need an external power supply nearby (roughly 10 meters), which may limit its appeal in some gardens.

For the rest, Aiper keeps one of the true strengths of the first model: easy and quick installation. You plug in the unit, connect the water (standard 16 mm – 5/8″ – and 19 mm – 3/4″ hoses with the included quick-connect), open the app, and follow the steps. In a few minutes, the system is recognized, connected and ready to operate.
