Banana Nutella Bundt Cake From Nothing Bundt Cakes Needs More Nuts

With Nothing Bundt Cakes having rolled out their crowd-pleasing Banana Pudding Cake earlier this year—my second-favorite of all time—I wasn’t anticipating another banana-forward creation from the brand so quickly. Even though the memory of that cherished dessert remains vivid, a fresh banana-centric offering from Nothing Bundt Cakes sits before me for examination. Let’s lift the iconic clamshell and determine if banana and Nutella can share the same cake harmoniously.

Nothing Bundt Cakes’ Banana Prepared with NUTELLA Bundtlet Review

A fresh Nothing Bundt Cake lands now!

Pros: This is clearly a solid cake. It appears to utilize the same banana-forward batter as the longtime Banana Pudding I covered in March; if not identical, it’s equally rich and indulgent. The extra Nutella drizzle over the cream cheese frosting crown injects extra gooey appeal that will have you scraping your plate clean with your utensil.

Cons: Despite Nutella being highlighted in the name, its presence is fairly restrained throughout the cake. A slim top drizzle and a central core pocket keep Nutella as a minor player in most bites. I would have hoped for a balance that matched how the Banana Pudding Bundtlet pulled off everything.

The dehydrated banana chip garnish presents an odd complication; the ultra-moist environment surrounding the cake seems to lightly rehydrate the chip by the time you take a bite. The texture of a banana slice that’s dried and then rehydrated is… unique, to say the least.
