As game day excitement builds, Burger King rolls out a Game Day Menu that brings a bold new burger to the table along with a side we’ll cover a bit later. The star, the Game Day Pretzel Burger, arrives not only with a pretzel bun but with a SuperPretzel brand pretzel bun. Burger King graciously provided a gift card so we could sample the entire Game Day Menu; here’s a look at whether it’s worth stepping up to stretch a little before kickoff.
- Burger King’s Game Day Pretzel Burger Review

Pros: Folks, I’ve tasted a Whopper crafted right in Burger King’s Innovation Kitchen, and this new creation instantly becomes the best BK burger I’ve ever had. The marriage of a savory nacho cheese sauce with American cheese delivers a rich dairy-forward note, while the crispy onions provide a satisfying crunch beneath the soft, forgiving bite of the SuperPretzel bun. And that bun—oh, that bun. It deserves a permanent spot on the menu, stat. Most limited-time fast-food burgers aren’t worth seeking out, but this one absolutely is.
Cons: While I don’t subscribe to the notion that bacon automatically makes every burger better, this particular burger stands as the finest bacon-topped BK option I’ve ever encountered.
- Burger King’s Chicken Fries with Nacho Cheese Sauce Review

In addition to the marquee burger on this game-day lineup, Burger King is promoting “Game Day Chicken Fries,” served with a side of Nacho Cheese for dipping. Out of curiosity more than appetite, I saved some space from my pretzel-bun bite to try this pairing of Chicken Fries with its Nacho Cheese. Was the trade-off worthwhile?
Pros: Chicken and cheese is a reliable duet, though this had to contend with a lofty standard. Burger King’s Nacho Cheese Sauce offers a tangy bite that sits in the mild queso family, but with a brighter, more vibrant flavor than I expected from a major fast-food chain.
Cons: I abandoned the intended pairing and instead used the Nacho Cheese Sauce that accompanies the fries to dip the rest of the Game Day Pretzel Burger.
