A Successful Design, Impeccable Finish

As Nacon prepares the next step in its RevoSim lineup with a lighter model at “only” 3 Nm and an even more powerful one at 10 Nm, we are testing today the only available product, the RevoSim Pure, which is marketed in several forms depending on whether you include all or part of the accessories already offered by Nacon. And there are already many accessories; we’ll come back to that later.

The base is also equipped with a headphone jack that PC recognizes as an audio device and a Bluetooth button to connect a smartphone. Finally, a power button is of course present. Oh! And everything is designed so the base can be mounted on almost any cockpit, while, by default, solid jaws (included) attach to it for table mounting. Impeccable.

Alongside this, the RevoSim Pure kit comes with a pedal set. A “kit” model that is quickly assembled. Why in kit? Because Nacon has planned the possibility of upgrading it. It comes with an accelerator pedal featuring magnetic Hall sensor and a brake pedal with Load Cell sensor. The latter is adjustable with three types of rubber and that’s it—the entire pedal set can be modified: angles, spacing, distance… A true marvel.

On the sides of the base, not much to report, while at the back Nacon has of course laid out all the connectors. A classic USB-C port to connect to the PC, and three RJ ports to connect various accessories like the pedal set, but also a handbrake or a shift lever. A substantial power input allows connecting the external power brick delivering an impressive 200 watts. Note that all cables are long (3 meters) for greater installation freedom.

The base also includes an audio jack that PC treats as a sound card, as well as a Bluetooth button to pair a smartphone. Finally, a power button is obviously present. Note that everything is designed so the base can be mounted on almost any cockpit (or nearly), while by default robust jaws (supplied) are used to mount to a table. Impeccable.

Sur les côtés de la base, peu de choses à signaler, tandis qu’au dos Nacon a bien sûr disposé toute la connectique. Un port USB-C classique pour relier au PC et trois ports RJ pour brancher les différents accessoires comme le pédalier, mais aussi un frein à main ou un levier de vitesses. Une prise d’alimentation imposante permet de brancher la brique d’une puissance impressionnante de 200 watts. Notez que tous les câbles sont longs (3 mètres) pour une plus grande liberté d’installation.

Finally, Nacon delivers a high-quality steering wheel to complement its kit. In faux leather with white stitching, it’s striking. The diameter is 30 cm, but what stands out is the huge number of controls (11 buttons, 2 paddles, 2 multifunction switches) and as many LED indicators for verification. Of course, as noted, assembly is ultra-simple with the quick release system.

The steering wheel is of very high quality, with faux leather and white stitching. It looks superb. The diameter is 30 cm, but the real draw is the multitude of controls (11 buttons, 2 paddles, 2 multifunction switches) and LED indicators for monitoring. The assembly is, as mentioned, extremely simple thanks to the quick-release system.

Why such a tool? Simply because you can install a smartphone app that provides real-time information during wheel use. Some will call this gadgetry, and we can’t fully dispute them, but we applaud Nacon’s idea, especially since the execution is, once again, impeccable.

Nacon RevoSim RS Pure

Sur la base, on peut immédiatement sentir le morceau essentiel d’un système Direct Drive. La puissance déployée est impressionnante dès le départ… Et voilà que Nacon prépare une version à 10 Nm ! La force est déjà notable, mais surtout, elle est nuancée : ce n’est pas de la puissance brute et, à l’usage, on bénéficie d’un retour riche en informations. En conduite, tout paraît très naturel et bien équilibré.

Enfin, Nacon livre un volant de grande qualité pour compléter son kit. En similicuir avec surpiquage blanc, il est du plus bel effet. Le diamètre est de 30 cm, mais on retiendra surtout la présence de très nombreuses commandes (11 boutons, 2 palettes, 2 switchs multifonctions) et d’autant de LED de contrôle pour tout vérifier. Bien sûr, nous l’avons dit, le montage est ultra simple avec le système de quick release.

A plethora of accessories

The excellent first impression left by the RevoSim Pure continues when assembling everything: it takes only a few minutes to put it all together and the result has real style. But that’s not enough for Nacon, which has clearly done well by thinking about every accessory. The first, included with the kit, is a small stand for a smartphone. Yes, a bit like for your GPS.

À côté de cela, Nacon a mis en place tout un écosystème pour son RevoSim Pure. Un écosystème qui peut s’acheter en bundle, direct, mais que l’on peut aussi acquérir petit à petit en fonction de ses envies et de son budget. Parmi les différents accessoires, notons la présence d’un kit Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team qui reprend la forme et les couleurs du volant de l’écurie de Formule 1 (mais sans son écran intégré). Plus anecdotique, Nacon distribue aussi des gants de course RS Pure.

However, now it becomes genuinely interesting: the brand offers a Load Cell handbrake to go with its kit and introduces a clutch pedal that can be integrated into the pedal set with world-class ease. Again, everything is adjustable and Nacon ships two springs to tweak the stiffness. The pedal connects directly to the base, as with the latest accessory.
