Jolly Rancher and tea might not strike you as a natural mix, yet The Ryl Co. proves to be innovative. This budding tea company sent samples of their Green Apple and Blue Raspberry Jolly Rancher canned teas; we’re here to assess whether candy can replace traditional sugar in a cup.
- Green Apple Jolly Rancher Tea by The Ryl Co. Review
-
Pros: The aroma mirrors a classic Green Apple Jolly Rancher perfectly, yet the zero-calorie base prevents a syrupy mouthfeel. The tea carries a distinct sour-tart note that sets it apart from the brand’s other options (the Blue Raspberry version is coming up).
Cons: It’s hard to pinpoint the target audience. Did Jolly Rancher fans want a lower-caffeine, drinkable take on their beloved candy? Based on my partner’s pronounced disappointment when the samples arrived, dedicated tea lovers likely weren’t clamoring for it.

- Blue Raspberry Jolly Rancher Tea by The Ryl Co. Review
-
Pros: The Ryl Co. earns kudos for faithfully capturing the fragrance across all three beverages; in a blind sniff test, I’d reliably identify this as Jolly Rancher material.
Even so, this flavor could have tipped over into overpowering territory, but the blue raspberry remains notably restrained— perhaps to a fault.
Cons: It doesn’t quite deliver that true blue raspberry candy vibe; it’s not especially blue-raspberry or candy-like. While I’m not eager to drink tea brewed from Jolly Rancher pieces that haven’t fully melted, this halfway approach was also rather unsatisfying.

- Cherry Jolly Rancher Tea by The Ryl Co. Review
-
As noted earlier, The Ryl Co. provided the Green Apple and Blue Raspberry varieties for review, so discovering a Cherry Jolly Rancher tea on shelves just days after was a pleasant surprise. This cherry variant is offered exclusively at Target, and this piece includes some extra notes.
Pros: Interestingly, this cherry variant stands out as my clear favorite among the trio. Crafted with only natural flavors, it authentically evokes candy-cherry in the finest way. Detached from the Jolly Rancher branding, cherry still feels the most credible as a tea flavor, making it my top choice.
Cons: I’m no branding guru, but launching the best flavor as an exclusive item for just a single retailer seems a poor strategy.
