Beginning tomorrow, October 1, we will eagerly dive headlong into all things spooky. Halloween is among the most thrilling times to explore what different fast-food and dining brands offer, since they’re always crafting festive creations to put customers in a celebratory mood. One brand, more than others, is taking things further this year with a Halloween lineup featuring twelve fresh drinks. The brand, unsurprisingly, is Dunkin’.
To honor the season and out of our sheer curiosity about whether Dunkin’ can keep up with this fall lineup, we chose one of the most intriguing drinks in the lineup to test for you, our readers. The Terror-misu Cloud Latte, offered as part of the Halloween menu, is a twist on the new tiramisu flavor they introduced this fall, but it comes with the distinct addition of their all-new Purple Marshmallow Cold Foam on top. It looks delightfully spooky, and we’ve been eager to sample these flavors. Let’s dive in.
Our Official Sporked Assessment
Since tiramisu is, at its core, a creamy coffee dessert, it makes sense that this drink tastes like a coffee-flavored coffee with extra creaminess and sweetness. And, it’s pleasantly not overly artificial in flavor.
As for the cold foam in particular, it leaned more toward the flavor of marshmallow fluff than toward an artificially flavored marshmallow syrup that we sometimes encounter at coffee shops. Plus, the cold foam had a wonderfully fluffy quality to it in addition to its spooky and charming pale purple hue.
Drawbacks — Honestly, we’re kind of grasping at straws to try to find things we don’t really enjoy about this latte. If you’d prefer a traditional Dunkin’ latte that is sweet and creamy, you’re probably going to like this. But if we really must nitpick, then I suppose the combination of marshmallow cold foam and a tiramisu-flavored coffee doesn’t necessarily make sense. However, in practice the flavors don’t necessarily clash either. That said, if you’re someone who is adverse to a very sweet and creamy coffee then we wouldn’t recommend it.
