If you’re fond of Chick-fil-A’s waffle fries, these chips are probably right up your alley. They carry the same distinct potato flavor and are seasoned quite well. They also deliver a texture that’s crisp on the outside while still soft inside, mirroring the fries’ feel.
It’s worth noting that these grocery-store chips aren’t identical to the Chick-fil-A catering chips. Those individually packaged portions tend to be crisper and more delicate in texture. The waffle weave on the restaurant chips is finer, whereas the supermarket version shows a coarser, more uneven pattern. In the end, unless you’re a devoted Chick-fil-A admirer, the appeal of these chips over your go-to, more affordable ridged potato chips isn’t immediately obvious.

We didn’t anticipate enjoying these Chick-fil-A Sauce Waffle Potato Chips as much as we did, and the reason for our newfound liking was even more surprising. It turns out that using Chick-fil-A sauce as a dry seasoning on a potato chip yields a flavor that eerily resembles All Dressed Lay’s, the Canadian classic. South of the border, those Canadian favorites aren’t often available, but we do have a plentiful supply of Chick-fil-A sauces. This twist proved to be a pleasantly welcome turn of events.
The same qualities that define the Original flavor are present here as well, but the overall flavor is outstanding. Not only does it echo Chick-fil-A sauce, it also tastes exactly like All Dressed chips. When Chick-fil-A Sauce is employed as chip seasoning, the two flavors seem to merge into one. It’s a hint of ketchup, a dash of barbecue, a touch of mustard, and a generous helping of satisfying goodness. It’s safe to say we finished the entire bag in a single sitting.
