The arrival of Starbucks’ Blended Energy Refreshers has been eagerly anticipated. The concept feels almost obvious: take the drinks we already crave, whip them in a blender, and suddenly you have a revitalizing new option that somehow feels even more refreshing.

The lineup that debuted with this collection includes the Blended Mango Strawberry Lemonade Energy Refresher, the Blended Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Energy Refresher, and the Blended Pink Energy Drink. A lineup that sounds pretty star-studded to me. So, naturally, we had to determine if that hype holds true. Here are our thoughts on Starbucks’ newly introduced Blended Energy Refreshers.

Blended Mango Strawberry Lemonade Energy Refresher

This option showcased just how breezy a blended Refreshers drink can feel. It comes across as light and, surprisingly, not overly sweet. It’s the one I found myself wanting to sip again and again, thanks to its refreshing blend of a summer berry with tropical fruit. The lemonade adds a touch of brightness as well. I could see myself ordering this one again, though I’m not entirely sure it definitively surpasses the classic refresher. The blending process does mellow the flavor a bit, so depending on how strong you prefer your flavors, you might lean either way.

Blended Mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Energy Refresher

This refresher struck me as odd because it somehow turned one of the best Refreshers into something that felt underpowered in flavor. It isn’t the first time blending has muted intensity, but this one especially suffered as the drink sat, and the frozen portion began to melt. The result was a noticeable drop in sweetness and character, leaving it tasting flatter than expected. It remains reasonably refreshing, but the taste required a moment to get used to.

Blended Pink Energy Drink

From the moment this option begins to melt, the texture shifts into something less appealing—almost off-putting. I prefer the straightforward Pink Drink in its non-blended form, which felt like a creamy nod to the Strawberry Açai Refresher and carries a touch of nostalgia for those who remember it as a secret-menu item. Yet blending dulls the classic drink’s character, leaving this version rather bland even before melting starts. After that, it ends up tasting a bit like coconut milk diluted with a hint of strawberry, and the dilution is inescapable. Compared with regular ice, the blended ice is so fine that the drink becomes noticeably thinner in just a few minutes.
